Company history

Kendox was founded by a group of individuals who had worked together in the document and information management sector since the 1990s. Since 2004, when the company was founded, Kendox has become an internationally-oriented software and services provider with an explicit focus on partner-based strategy. Kendox is an owner-operated company, privately financed by capital contributions. Its business development goals are focused on long-term, constant organic growth.

2015

On 31 March 2015, Kendox published the first version of its Mobile Web Client. This universal user application, developed using HTML5, CSS, JS and JSON technology, is now being gradually expanded with the goal of making the complete Kendox InfoShare functionality for both cloud services and "classical" in-house (on-premises) installations available through this forward-looking technology.

A new end-to-end service architecture based on the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) was also introduced at the same time. All interfaces have been published and are available for customers and partners to integrate at no additional cost (much like the existing web service interface). This forms a foundation for future parallel developments to the InfoShare (on-premises) base product and InfoShare SaaS Edition, since both now stem from the same technological and product base.

In terms of software development, work also started on InfoShare Version 5.

2012 to 2014

The 2012 development plan emphasised a new upgrade for the standard edition of InfoShare to Version 4 and its integration with leading partner solutions. The ongoing development of Kendox's cloud-based offering was given equal attention, with a particular focus on web and application functionality, data protection and data centre operations. Based on practical experience with the first data centre-based customer installations, Kendox was able to upgrade the software's cloud functionality again over the course of 2013.

InfoShare Version 4 was released in March 2013. By the end of 2014, the number of customers using InfoShare had risen to over 400. InfoShare is now used by both SMEs and very large enterprises and public institutions.

The number of Business Cloud Services partners also showed gradual but constant growth, with Kendox focusing strongly on its partner network in this new segment, too. The technology and product roadmap is published, in which Kendox reacts to changing market demands, covering subjects such as HTML5 applications, mobile devices, flexible cloud services, very large archives, and more. Users of Kendox in-house solutions benefit, as do users of the Kendox Business Cloud Services.

2009 to 2011

Kendox takes the broad strategic decision to develop a complete "rich internet application" (RIA) system. Thanks to the modern InfoShare software solution, the standard has already been set very high. A layer of end-to-end web services and a comprehensive user interface are developed using Silverlight technology.

Kendox InfoShare 3.1 is published in 2010, a powerful, state-of-the-art software tool which now also includes a "Digital Dossiers" module. The user application is available as a Windows client and as a rich internat application (RIA Web).

Following the sale of its former subsidiary Kendox GmbH, Munich, to sales partner Wilken GmbH in 2011, and the formation of a new independent branch office in Germany, Kendox AG focuses increasingly on partner sales and on new cloud-based applications.

2006 to 2008

Kendox wins additional sales and technology partners in German-speaking countries and will soon also become active in Austria. Thanks to the successful course charted by its partner strategy, Kendox AG in Oberriet, Switzerland, becomes an increasingly strongly focused software developer, acting as a reliable, flexible source for state-of-the-art standard software, product updates and forward-looking strategy.

Kendox and partners win a number of large, discerning customers, resulting in a wide range of integration solutions for Microsoft SharePoint, CRM, Exchange/Outlook, Lotus Domino and many other systems. A strategic sales partner and investor is won in the form of the Infoniqa group and its Swiss subsidiary Infoniqa SQL AG, Zug.

2004 to 2005

Kendox AG (Switzerland) and its sales and consulting subsidiary Kendox GmbH (Munich) are founded with the goal of creating a new standard software solution for information management and providing customers with qualified consulting in the fields of document management and archiving, business process management, document capture, and intelligent information searching. The software is developed and Kendox enters the market in Germany and Switzerland in 2005.

Kendox InfoShare Version 1 initially wins around 20 customers and quickly becomes a technological leader thanks to its successful redesign and implementation based on Microsoft .NET technology. Modules are developed for SAP/ERP archiving, scanning, document capture and data extraction, email archiving, workflow management and more.
